Looking for a specialist app development agency?

Shipped product with the growth loop baked in. Ioka builds iOS, Android and cross-platform apps for ambitious businesses globally.

What this service actually is

What we do, in one paragraph.

We take you from product idea to App Store live. Strategy, UX, native or cross-platform development, backend, deployment, ASO, in-app analytics, and the acquisition engine behind it all.

The customer journey

The funnel, in plain words.

TOFU, MOFU, BOFU not jargon. Just where in the journey a buyer is, and what Product & App does at each stage.

TOFU MOFU BOFU
TOFU
Reach the right people before and after launch.
ASO (App Store Optimization), paid user acquisition, PR, influencer, pre-launch waitlist.
MOFU
Build interest with onboarding that proves value fast.
App onboarding flows, in-app education, email + push follow-up for day 1 / day 7 / day 30.
BOFU
Give qualified users a clear reason to pay, subscribe, convert.
In-app purchases, subscription prompts timed to activation moments, usage-based upgrade triggers.
Platforms & channels

Where this gets executed.

Not every channel for every client. We pick based on your market, buyer and goal.

iOS (Swift)
For deep platform features, premium feel, Apple-first audiences.
Android (Kotlin)
For reach, especially in GCC and South Asian markets.
React Native
For cross-platform parity with content-driven apps.
Flutter
For design-heavy cross-platform where custom UI matters.
Node / Go / Python backend
Hosted on AWS or GCP, API-first architecture.
Firebase / Supabase
For MVPs and apps where speed-to-launch beats custom infra.
What usually brings people to us

The real reasons businesses contact us about Product & App.

If more than two of these feel familiar, it's probably time to talk.

  • You have a product idea but no clear scope for a first version.
  • Your existing app ships bugs faster than features.
  • You have an app but no acquisition engine behind it.
  • ASO is 'something marketing does' but nobody owns it.
  • Development quotes vary 5× for the same brief.
  • Launch is next quarter and no growth plan exists yet.
Who it's for & when it works

Honest about fit.

Not everyone should buy this. Here's who it works for and when we'd tell you to spend the money differently.

Right fit when

  • You know who the first 100 users will be.
  • The product solves a problem you've validated.
  • You have the budget for both build and growth.
  • You can give us one decision-maker, not a committee.
  • You understand the first version is a learning tool, not the finished product.

Wrong fit when

  • You want everything in version 1.
  • You have no clear sense of who the user is.
  • You expect app downloads with zero marketing.
  • You need the full build in under 10 weeks.
  • You can't commit to post-launch iteration.
What good looks like

How we measure and scale.

The metrics we track, and what we do once we have a winner.

We measure
  • Activation rate (defined per product).
  • Day-1, Day-7, Day-30 retention curves.
  • LTV by acquisition source.
  • ASO conversion rate (store view → install).
  • Crash-free session rate.
Then we scale
  1. 01Double down on acquisition channels where LTV > 3× CAC.
  2. 02Fix the onboarding step with the biggest drop-off every sprint.
  3. 03A/B test store page assets (icon, screenshots, video) monthly.
  4. 04Expand into adjacent user segments once activation is stable.
Workflow

How we actually run this.

1
Define
The problem, the user, the one thing version 1 must prove.
2
Design
Flows, states, design system. Not a stack of screens.
3
Develop
Native (Swift / Kotlin) or cross-platform (React Native / Flutter) based on the problem.
4
Deploy
App Store and Play Store submission, review, launch.
5
Measure
Analytics instrumented from day one. Activation, retention, LTV.
6
Grow
ASO, paid UA, in-app experimentation.
Getting started

The first 30 days.

Three things happen when we start: we identify the tests, gather the data, and set expectations against a realistic timeline.

What we test
  • Core user flow does the primary task feel smooth?
  • Onboarding completion rate.
  • Day-1, Day-7, Day-30 retention.
  • ASO baseline current store page, keywords, conversion.
  • Technical performance launch time, crash-free rate.
What we need from you
  • Target user profile and the problem the app solves.
  • Existing analytics (if there's an app already) retention, engagement, revenue.
  • App Store Connect and Play Console access.
  • Any existing design system or brand assets.
  • Backend architecture docs (if integrating with existing systems).
What to expect
Weeks 1–3
Discovery, product scoping, design system foundations, backend architecture.
Weeks 4–10
Design + development in parallel. Beta builds shipped weekly to a small test group.
Weeks 11–14
QA, performance tuning, store listings, submission, launch.
Months 4–6
Post-launch growth. ASO optimised. Paid UA tested. First subscription/conversion curves understood.
Month 6+
Scaling cohorts, iterating onboarding, launching new features based on data.

What goes wrong

The common mistakes.

The patterns we see repeated across underperforming programs. Fix any of these and performance usually moves immediately.

01

Building the full vision in version 1.

You learn more from a scoped MVP in 12 weeks than a full build in 12 months.

02

Ignoring ASO.

Half of your downloads come from app store search. ASO is marketing, not an afterthought.

03

No analytics instrumentation.

You can't improve what you can't measure. Instrument from day one, not month six.

04

Choosing native vs cross-platform based on fashion.

The right choice is dictated by the problem. Not by what competitors did.

Pricing

How pricing works.

One flat fee per quarter, agreed before we start. We do not take a percentage of your ad spend.

01

One flat quarterly fee

You get one price for the quarter. No hourly billing and no surprise invoices.

02

Priced by scope

The fee depends on what is in scope for Product & App: the work to be done, the markets covered and how much has to be built from scratch.

03

A quote after one call

We scope it together on a 30-minute call, then send a fixed price. If we are not the right fit, we tell you.

Ad spend and other third-party costs are separate and agreed with you in advance.

Questions, answered

Common questions.

The real questions prospects ask us before signing an engagement.

Native or cross-platform which do you recommend?+

Depends on the problem. Heavy on device APIs or animation go native. Content-driven with high iOS/Android parity cross-platform is often faster and cheaper. We give you a straight recommendation, not a preference.

Can you take over an existing codebase?+

Yes. We start with a code review and risk audit, then stabilise before adding features. Rewrites are a last resort, never a first move.

Do you handle the backend?+

Yes. We can build and operate the backend (Node, Go or Python on AWS or GCP), or integrate with your existing team's infrastructure.

How much does an app actually cost?+

A scoped MVP is typically $80K–$250K. A full product with backend and growth engine is $250K–$750K. We give you a fixed-price scope before you commit no open-ended hourly billing.

What about App Store submission issues?+

We handle every rejection, review and resubmission ourselves. We've been through most of the common pitfalls (subscription policies, data collection, metadata rejections).

Will you handle ASO after launch?+

Yes ASO is a core part of the engagement. Store page assets, keyword optimisation, review response and ongoing experiments.

What if the product doesn't work?+

We'll tell you before you spend the money. If a product idea doesn't pass validation in week 2, we recommend changing scope or stopping not building something we both know won't ship.

Ready to grow?

We take on a limited number of partnerships each quarter. Thirty minutes, no pitch a frank conversation about where your growth is leaking and what it would take to seal it.
